MP15SD is built on the popular MP15/22 platform. This model utilizes a pinned on "backdraft" monocore design to a 12.5” barrel that leaves you with the same factory length host weapon. The end cap is broached for a 1/4" allen wrench that we provide for you and with just a few turns the entire tube and end cap comes off, making this the quietest and most user friendly integral on the market. The monocore is constructed from 2024T351 aluminum and TYPE III anodized for a lifetime of use and is pinned and welded to the barrel so the weapon will NOT have to be registered as a short barrel rifle. The tube is 2024T3 aluminum and is Type III anodized as well and this application only adds 2oz. to the weapon. The barrel has minimal porting and functions flawlessly with all types of standard and high velocity ammunition.
Why is the barrel ported?
The barrel is ported so that the majority of bulk high velocity ammunition will be 1000 fps. Most bulk ammunition chronographs between 25 and 110 fps which make it challenging to offer one model that works great with everything. CCI ammunition is the most consistent based on our testing and it only varies 2-15 fps making it the ideal choice for the MP15SD. The porting holes are very small which allow CCI standard velocity and most other subsonic ammunition to still reliably function.
Can the porting be eliminated?
Yes, In Services section on tbasuppressors.com we offer a port blocking option so that the user can make the decision based on his or her needs and ammunition requirements, however it will increase the overall sound reduction by more than 5db which is far below hearing safe @ 119db
Do you recrown the barrel?
We crown the barrel to an 11 degree target crown which enhances the accuracy.
Can I remove the monocore?
On our standard models the monocore is pinned and welded so that the overall length is over 16”. We can make the monocore removable and register your MP15SD as a SBR (Short Barrel Rifle)
Do you shorten the factory barrel?
Yes, we shorten it 4.25"
Can I buy just the upper receiver from TBA?
Hush Distribution is our primary distributor of the MP15SD however we only sell the complete guns.
You can send us your upper receiver in for the conversion. Lead times on customers guns that are sent in are 90 to 120 days
